Tickets/Citations

Texas Department of Public Safety, Game Wardens with Texas Parks and Wild Life Department, the Atascosa County Sheriff's Department  and Atascosa County Pct. 2 Constables file tickets/citations with the Justice Court. Once citations are received by the court, appearance dates are set, you may appear on or before that date.  Failure to appear will result in a warrant being issued for your arrest. On the appearance day the defendent is furnished with a Plea Sheet, the defendant's options are  GUILTY, NOLO CONTENDERE or Not Guilty.  

The defendant has a right of a trial by jury and to be represented by an attorney, if they desire. If the defendant desires to plead NOT GUILTY we will provide you with a pre-trial hearing date for a future date.  If the defendant submits payment, but fails to enter a plea, then a plea of NOLO CONTENDERE will automatically be entered for you. The court will not accept payment from a third party without a plea of the defendant.   

• If previously entered a plea of NOT GUILTY and would like to pay the fine instead, you will need to contact the Court.
•   If paying the fine after business hours and have an active warrant on your case, the warrant will not be recalled until the next business day. 
• If the defendant is a juvenile you will not have the ability to pay online will need to come into the office to speak to the judge. 
• If the defendant would like to request Defensive Driving or Deferred Adjudication for the ticket then you will need to contact the Court BEFORE making a payment online.
